Industrial Plants /Pilot and laboratory plants
The tool for your research
We develop customised pilot plants for research institutes, universities and the R&D centres of chemical companies. These plants are the ideal solution for conducting demanding experiments in solvent recovery, product concentration and reaction optimisation entirely in-house, giving full control over your innovations.

Your independence in R&D
While our in-house laboratory tests are the most efficient solution for many projects, there are specific scenarios in which having your own pilot plant offers a decisive advantage. We support you in determine the most suitable approach.
- For research & education: If you are a university or research institute requiring a flexible platform for fundamental development and research work in separation technology.
- For internal R&D: If you are a chemical or pharmaceutical company developing new, proprietary processes and wish to keep developments entirely in-house.
An industrial plant on a laboratory scale
Our pilot plants are not just basic laboratory setups. They are fully-fledged process engineering units based on the same engineering know-how as our large-scale plants.
- Customised design: We tailor each pilot plant exactly to your specific separation task, your media, and your target parameters – whether it is a laboratory unit for pervaporation or another membrane technology.
- Compact capacity: With throughputs of just a few litres per hour, the plants are ideally suited for research and development.
- Flexible batch operation: The plants are often designed for batch operation, offering maximum flexibility for experimental programmes and small-scale production.

Rent or buy: your choice
Depending on your requirements and the duration of your project, we offer two options to provide maximum flexibility:
- Rental: Ideal for time-limited projects, a rapid “proof of concept” for your pervaporation process, or for bridging temporary capacity capacity constraints.
- Purchase: The preferred option for long-term research and development programmes or the continuous production of highly specialised niche products.
Frequently asked questions
Why should I have my own pilot plant if DeltaMem offers laboratory tests?
Our laboratory tests are ideal for quickly validating a technology. However, having your own pilot plant gives you complete independence. It is the right choice if you do not wish to share your processes or substances with external partners or if you require a plant for continuous, in-house research.
How does a pilot plant differ from an industrial plant?
The main differences lie in the scale and intended purpose. Pilot plants have a lower capacity (a few litres per hour) and are designed for maximum flexibility in batch operation for “proof of concept” purposes. Industrial plants, on the other hand, are optimised for high throughput and continuous production.
What is the process for a customised pilot plant?
The process mirrors that of our industrial systems. We beginby analysing your requirements, carry out feasibility tests where necessary, and then develop a detailed process design tailored precisely to your application.
